5MinuteJoomla.com is an offshoot of our work with Joomla in our web design firm, Netporium LLC. As we built Joomla sites for ourselves and for our clients, we were amazed by the lack of a central repository of clear, concise directions on how to accomplish basic tasks with Joomla. We often found that instructions on the Joomla.org site, while mostly complete, were often fragmented in different places and muddled by the different authors that often create different parts of the Joomla reference documents.

Working with Joomla, we discovered that the most complete source of helpful instructions were often in the Joomla.org forum section, but once again, it seemed to waste enormous amounts of time searching through all the posts and threads for the right answer. The fact that the forums had, by default, become the most common way to answer questions showed that there was an immense need for a place for Joomla users to go and get their questions answered without all the hunting and clicking.
