Changing a Template or CSS File To Writeable

I noticed that my Joomla template/css file is showing that it is “unwriteable”. How can I fix this?
One of the more annoying problems is when the Joomla template or css file is show in red as “unwriteable” after you make a change to it. Most of the time the file will work fine, but you really should return the file or template to its original writeable state.

The first thing you will encounter, is finding where the unwriteable files are located on the server. This is relatively easy, but it does require you to use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to go in to the files on the server hosting the Joomla site. Once you have located the file that needs to be changed, you will have to understand what the settings mean and how to modify them.

I am glad you care about quality. The problem is that not enough individuals take the time to embrace talent.
